What is the name of your state? Maryland

I would like help regarding "Applicant Type" first page of form I-485. I am a British Citizen and have married my husband whom is an American Citizen. I did not enter as a K-1 fiance (met my husband while in the usa overstayed and married) and none of the ofther boxes apply to me. I believe (please correct me if i am wrong) Box (g) would be my correct "checked box" but what would be the correct wording to place there. Could someone help. Confused.

ny. hi my situation is very similar. I'm also a British citizen that overstayed my visa. I'm currently filling out the paperwork (been married for 3 years to my American husband). on the I-485 I checked box a (immediatly available visa number due to marriage). hope this helps. I'm winging it myself so maybe we could help each other? :)

box a is the correct choice and you should be filing the I-130 along with the I-485.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or if I may be of further assistance to you in this matter.

Form I-485

Thank you Jolida and Lana. This Forum is great, thank you.

Box (a) is the correct box thank you, but I do not have an "approval notice" to send attached? Do i not need to send anything because i am married? What do i do?

On page "Information about you" Eligibillity - "I am filing Supplement A to Form I-485 because"- i am going to check (b) correct? along with (c) for question 2.

On Application for Employment Form I-765 Q.15 Current immigration Status. I came as a visitor, and as told, i overstayed. so do i put "Visitor" or "Out of Status"

It would be great to help each other Jolida, thank you for the offer. Have you done the sections metioned above? The forms are so confusing, I don't want to put the wrong thing and get it send back

once again thank you guys for thinking of this site. And thanks for the help so far Lana and Jolida

hello again, I'm under the impression that we don't have to file the supplement to the I-485 as we entered legally. If you look on the form under NOTE on the first page it says.. if you are applying as a spouse of a us citizen and you were lawfully admitted you don't need to file it. As for the approval notice, I believe our wedding licenses would be the proof? (maybe Lana could verify for us?). Q. 15 on the I-765 i just put "visa overstay filing I-485". I can't believe how expensive this whole process is. I think I added up the fees and its going to cost almost $800!! And then when we want to become American it will cost about another $500. Actually Lana, I have a question for you...my husband and I have been married for 3 years (together for 11) do I still have to wait 2 years to become American? I"ve been here since 1989.
Venuslatri, please let me know if I can help again. Take care.

Another Question.
Form I-485 Pg. 2.- Part 3. It asks for your Nonimmigration # is that the Control # or the 8 digit # in red at the bottom right side of my Visa "R"Type B1/B2 (6 months visa for usa)

Thanks :)

i-130/i-485, work permit

State: GA

Hi..i married an american citizen last december, holding a tourist visa. Now i am in my country, Venezuela, and he is going to fill out the I-130 and I-485 at the same time, i'm going there holding my tourist visa in may if i dont get the approval for the alien relative petition first. How long do you think it'd take? Do i have to wait 'til i get there to fill out the work permit or can he fill it out for me along with the I-130 and I-485? how long does it take? thanks.

Non-immigration #

I have found out the answer so if any one else needs to know, because it is quite confusing, your Non-immigration Visa Number is the # at the bottom right side in RED
