What is the name of your state? OR
I am married and have gotten into a lot of debt in the last few years, mostly medical and credit card. Can I file on my own, without my husband, and would this affect his credit in any way?
In a perfect world, I would not want him to know at all! I have my own car, in both names, paid for, and I work...would I lose it?

Unless you 2 have joint assets and the debt is joint, he'll have no liability and it shouldn't affect him.
