Hey everyone,
I went to advising at my college and was convinced to take 7 course credits. I only needed 3 credits to get into my program, but an advisor convinced me that I should retake one class (4 credit class) and that "it will be a good thing because now you can receive financial aid". This advisor also registered me into a major so I could take these courses, and receive my financial aid.
My courses were all paid for with a pell grant except for one credit. I called because I didn't understand why and when I spoke with a woman one the phone she told me I "was good". My courses were not dropped on the day funds were due so I figured it was a computer system issue. Then in the middle of add/drop week I was dropped from my classes (random day/time). Come to find out that because I was a part-time student that my pell only covered 6 credits. I have never received financial aid so I don't know! Either way, I paid, out of pocket, for all 7 credits. I paid for all of them because it was add/drop week and if I didn't pay for them I would be dropped again. I figured I would get at least 6 credits worth of money back from the school.
Now...I have not received my funds. I called registrar and they stated that my advisor never actually put me into the pre-nursing program I was suppose to be put into, that was an error on their part. Because of this I am seen as a "non-degree seeking student". The woman I spoke with put a ticket in to have this problem resolved. Then a few days later I get an email stating that they are unable to put me into a new major because it is half-way through the semester.

Basically because I was not put into a major, which they agreed was an error on their part, I am now unable to receive the funds I should have been awarded. Its weird to me because before I was dropped out of my classes it stated I only owed for that one credit.

Sorry it's long...
Thanks for the help.
