Hello, I was hoping someone could give me some insight on my situation.
I am physician in Florida. I have a doctor who works for me (rather contracts 1099) who is going through a divorce. Her attorney has financially deposed her husband and now his attorney is financially deposing her and her employer (me).
We had to drop her salary because she is a single mom with 2 children and she couldn't put in the appropriate hours. She was previously on 1099 income of about $17K/month. When she left her husband she had to spend more time at home so I dropped her income to $8K/month (1099).
They are deposing me and I am not sure what information they are going to request from me since the letter doesn't say.
I think her husband thinks I am hiding money for her, but in all reality she works less and thus gets paid less.
Any insight, to what questions they will ask me and what documents I should provide them would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you kindly.
