I've got a cousin who has a daughter about to turn 18. The deadbeat has not paid support, and can't/doesn't want to be found. His last known address was checked and he is gone. She is in dire straights. What can she do?

She needs to make sure she has filed some type of court action against him prior to the daughter turning 18 in order to collect it after the daughters 18th birthday.

Next she should contact a Private Child SUpport collection agency. I normally do not refer people to them, but twice tonight I have... Reason being that they are more aggressive in pursuing support. Of course they charge a percentage of all money they collect, but you are more likely to get something then if you rely on the state to collect for you.
