What is the name of your state? Louisiana

I would some help if I may. The local school board has been purchasing computers from a local company over-and-over. This company has sold the school nothing but junk. There is something going on, because the owner of this company is the super's relative. There seems to be a lot of stuff going on such as Licensing Violations, and Schools & Libraries Violations.

Day before yesterday I was offered by this company records on the purchases the this school board, and records of repairs and service calls, etc. They would be happy to send them to me.

Yesterday I called and I told them my name, and they referred me to their lawyer. Why could this be?

Is there any way I can legally request purchase records from the school board from this company? So I can see what they purchased, and how much.

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Michael B.
