I live in Indiana, my mother recently passed away and had some foreign investments. With no written documentation on these investments, is there a way to trace or find out where these investments are? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any indication what foreign city or country they might be in? What led you to believe this in the first place? Some research might be done on this over the internet. Have you checked through her personal papers to see what might be there?

Ask executor to order prior year tax federal and/or state tax returns for your mother for 2003 and 2002, and there might be hints on the tax forms if perhaps a special form was required for her to pay taxes on the dividends or interest on those investments. The executor is the only one who can order prior year tax returns.
