What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I went through the whole divorce process except the final filing. Do I need to pay again to refile? Do I have to refill out paperwork?

Filed in 2002, in California. We are totally amicable in all aspects of the divorce and do not want anything from each other. We only want a clean split. Nothing monetary what so ever. We never got the final divorce decree.

You can check the court records, but your case has almost certainly been closed by now due to lack of action.

You'll have to start over from scratch.

Thank you to everyone for replying. :)

I am currently speaking with a lawyer at the courthouse trying to get it done right the first time without having to take a ton of time off work.

Thanks again :)
