What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ

I am applying for a securities job and filed my U-4 form with FINRA. On the form it asks if I have ever been arrested and convicted of a Misdemeanor. I answered yes as I have been and gave a breif description of the charge. The case was Sealed by the state of New York under section 160.50 CPL. Now they are asking for a copy of the Court Disposition stating it was sealed and a written statement from my telling them what happened. I already have the Court Disposition and have no problem giving it to them. My question is, should I also give them a written statement, or should I not? Will it have any effect on my future having such a statement on file? Am I required by law to do so? Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Lou!
