What is the name of your state? MA

My fiance worked for a call center. The boss told him that when he wasn't taking a call he was free to go on the internet to do personal things. For some reason the boss's wife who is in charge of the employees really dislikes him and gives him an attitude constantly. Today she called him into her office and fired him for being online too much despite the fact that they told him it's ok and everyone else does it. Does he have any type of legal recourse besides filing for unemployment? He has never gotten in trouble at work before, and has copies of all of his reviews which have been outstanding. He was even promoted after being on the job a few months to take manager calls (this was a promotion without a raise).

Sorry, but no. If the boss is willing to allow her to fire him for that reason, it's legal.

Isn't that wrongful termination though? How can you tell someone that it is OK to go online and then fire them for doing so, especially with no warning whatsoever?

No, that is not wrongful termination. Wrongful termination means that you were fired for a reason prohibited by law. Unless you can point to a law that says you can't be fired because the two different management employees disagree on whether you can spend spare time on the Internet, it is not wrongful termination.
