My husband is being threatened by his company to find another job by the end of this month because his brother is one of the top managers and therefore do not want them working together. My husband has been working there for two and half years and now they are letting him go because his brother is his boss. However other relatives work there as well and they are not being threatened at all. Can the company do this to him (my husband)? What are his rights and what can he do?

An employer may adopt a "no relatives working for one another" policy if they wish, and it's typically a good idea. They can selectively apply the policy as well. For example, they may not feel it's a problem for one relative to report to another in lower levels of management (production worker and first line supervisor) but feel that a relative working for a top manager is a problem.

Unless there's some very critical information missing here (such as your husband is African American and he's being singled out because of his race but the white ee's are allowed to manage family members), I don't see that your husband has any recourse but to find a new job asap. What the employer is doing is not illegal.
