This is kind of lng, so please stay with me.
My boyfriend and I got into a bad fight last week and I ended up getting hurt. I went to the hospital, I came home, and he was still very drunk and upset. He was convinced at the time that I hated him, so he must kill himself. I had a torn ligament in my ankle, and he is really big, so I didn't know how to stop him when he started running around in the steet. I called 911, because I didn't want him to die. I was very scared for both of us. The cops showed up arrested him for Domestic Violence, since I was hurt. He had taken some pills and I wasn't sure how many, so I told 911 about it. As soon as they had him outside, they were interrogating me about drugs. I told them he wasn't on any drugs except for muscle relaxers, and they wanted to see them. I went to go get them and they wouldn't let me touch anything. I could only point to where they were. Unfortunately, they were in the same place where I had a little pot, so they took me in for drug and paraphenalia posession.
I have never been in trouble before and I don't know what to do about court tomorrow. I live in Utah, and everyone lies a lot here, especially the police. I cannot afford a lawyer, but I can't go to jail, either. I don't know what to do. I feel like they showed up with the intention of looking for drugs, even though drugs had nothing to do with why I called 911... Any advice? I will gladly welcome any comments.

Well, the best thing I can advise you to do is to tell the judge that you can't afford your own attorney and that you request to have a public defender appointed for you. Then work with your PD on the drug charges. Since it is your first offense your PD can probably get the charges reduced to a lesser offense.
