i was arrested for theft under $5000, i have a print and court date, the most i can get is a $2000 fine and/or up to 6months in prison. Do i need a lawyer, although i don't have the money for one? Will i go to jail, I am 18yrs old and have never done anything before. How long will i be in court? Do you think i will just get a fine? I Can't go to Jail!

Yes, you need a lawyer. If you can't afford one, ask the crown prosecutor/judge how to get a public defender. Don't talk to police at all without a lawyer.

This is not legal advice and you are not my client. Double check everything with your own attorney and your state's laws.
