My family recently moved into a mobile home with a one year lease and now the landlord is saying we will be evicted because the association that governs this deed restricted community requires background checks and financial disclosures and a 75.00 fee for this...this is not in my lease nor was it mentioned until 3 weeks after we moved in. He says we can get around this by buying the place which I would do but he wants more than its worth and 10% interest and is pushing us to close by 4\15\01 what are our options we do not want to move again..we just left another home that also belonged to the same landlord and were given hardly anytime to prepare what can we do?

i don't know if this will help

I also live in a mobile home in Fla. and most parks do require a backround check, but you might try going to the office of the mobile home park and explain your situation. They may allow you to pay the $75.00 even though the lease is not with you, the backround check consists of a criminal backround check, and evections and such. If you have any felonies or drug charges on your record you will not pass it. I own my mobile home, but if you are thinking of buying it, and have never lived in mobile home before make sure you check it really well, this is my second mobile, my first after I bought it I found out that under the paneling I had termite damage and had to replace a hole wall!! Check the walls, floors, age, if it is an older trailor make sure you check the electrical and the pipes, we had alot of trouble in our last home with that. Anyway I don't know if I helped you any, but best of luck to you.
