What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

I've searched and found numerous threads that support this claim, yet somehow, I still can't be sure until my personal question is answered. Sorry for the repeat of this scenario.

I'm 18 (guy), and I just started seeing this 16 (soon to be 17) year old girl. From what I understand, IF anything sexual were to happen, I would be in the clear; given I'm under 24 years of age. I've never met her parents, so don't know how they feel about everything yet. But, even if her parents don't approve of us, would it still be legal to have sex (or other sexual interactions)?

Thanks for the help!

Since you are under 24, the close in age exceptions would apply and stat rape would be off the table. However, don't imagine that means you are fully in the clear. If her parents objected to a legal adult, however close in age, having sexual contact with their minor daughter, there are a host of charges that could be levied against you without ever touching stat rape.
