married in and residing in florida. Upon marriage january 2000, put my car title in my wifes name (for other legal reasons). Decided on divorce, wife agrees to sign car back to me, i have to keep her on medical insurance through february 2002 in trade.
Marriage property settlement agreement is waiting for her signature, no divorce has been filed yet due to waiting so she can remain on my insurance.
My question is can I do anything now to protect the car and her taking it? She has moved out of state (Maryland) and it might take a month or so for the property agreement to be final (we do agree on it, it has recently been written up).
I know I can file for divorce and then upon her being served everything is frozen, but what can I do legally now to protect the car while all of this happens? I know a domestic violence injunction would work and there are grounds for it (however no police reports), but besides that is there anything I can do to protect the car? Thanks for any insight!
