who forced you to move?

was it a marshall or sherriff?

Why didnt you appear in court?

Did you have a lease or month to month?

Or did you move because you were too stupid to know any better?

Evicted due to forclosure

Indiana

Thanks , H&L, Had a month to month unwritten lease (kept woman), Marion County Sheriff process server left paper on door, there seemed no reason to go to court: I was not summoned, just evicted. It was the Landlord who had to go to court. And was I stupid, you bet!

well NOW you know........

YOU made a choice to cut and run......so YOU are responible for all your costs.

If you had gone to court and filed an anwser and had a trial, you possibly could have gotten all your security and moving expenses paid....I said possible, since being a month to month tenat really doesn't give you too many rights in America.

But no matter you still are entitled to your security deposit back, as long as the rent was paid.

To H&R:
What kind of credentials do you have or do you just need an attitude adjustment? There was nothing for me to "answer", eviction came from new owner, not old landlord who never told me what was happening. So I DIDN'T turn tail and run. I had fifteen days and I wasn't about to be pushing a shopping card in Indianapolis in the winter - I am not THAT stupid.

well you ARE stupid.......

First NO ONE can throw you out without a court order from a JUDGE...which you didnt have.

BIG deal a sherriff handed you an eviction notice, that is ONLY the first step in the process...

so YES you did turn tail and run!!!!!!!!

Becuse you were supposed to be given a 30 day notice to move....

After the 30 days THEN they must file evicton papers IN COURT....it is assigned a Court Number, and you get so many days to respond, then they set up a trial date for all parties to be there.

THERE is where you could have stated your case to a judge who might have given you more time to move or at least ordered the landlord to give you back your security or pay you for this inconvenience.

Why do you pay TAXES?.....Why do you live in America?

When there is a problem you have a right given to you by our constituion to have a fair hearing in a court of law.

But YOU threw it away, by running away.

don't be too hard on him, have you ever been intiminated by a officer of the law? we are not all lawyers, as a matter of fact if we all knew the law and our rights there would be a lot of them short of work. We do need each other help, be constructive. most of us are a bit ignorant but not stupid. kind of like taking your car to a mechanic. you can't fix the problem yourself so you trust in him to do a good job. you do not know exactly what he did, it runs and gets you from point a to b. the deal is educated us in the basics and maybe some day you might get a break on getting you furnace or air conditioning fix when you need it the most.:)

I agree to a point........

But why did I kow you have a right to defend youself in a court of law in the 10th grade?

Is it becuase WE were taught about civics, and American History, and WE were taught about our rights and responsibilities as Americans.

Yes we should be hard on him, it is the fault of his poor edducation and his parents for not teaching him the basics about a little known country called AMERICA!!!!!

Passing Civics and American History WERE required courses to graduate!

As far as educating yourself..well what is this thingy called a kumpooter is for!!

But instead many people waste their time on GAMES, and Sports and other time consuming non educational purposes.

It would have taken him just a few mouse clicks to get the landlord tenant act for his state, and maybe print it out and read it.

Then he would have known.....

Amd the same with your car.....people should be observant and listen and learn about the basics.

Just think of the Illogic of spending $20,000 on an item you have no clue about...scary isn't it.

But then I am a CHEAPSKATE, so it is in my nature to be frugal, and by being frugal you learn about these things....but if you have plenty of money ..then why waste your time on these things..RIGHT???
