forced to move from parents house

Please help me someone!! I moved into my apartment in 1999. My then boyfriend lived ther first. The apartment is in his parent's home. We were getting married in 2000 so his parents said don't worry about the rent until after the wedding. Well, the wedding came and went and we immediately began paying rent. we have continued tom pay the rent on time since. We got into an arguement with my husbands sister 4 months ago. They have been rotten ever since. Now they want to make us move when the agreement was we would move when we bought a house. We have no lease(never did).Can you be thrown out of your family's house for no real legal reason? we live in New York. tHE INLAWS broke into our apartment to take our dog while the door was locked. Is this legal?

YES you can be thrown out, but they still have to legally evict you in court FIRST!

So why havent you apologized to your hubby's sister, and keep your apartment?

You must have been real NASTY for them to be this mad.

that was kind of mean don't you think. I did apologize. the problem is that the mom still wants to mother my husband.i know they can kick us out but i want to know if they can enter our apartment without our permission or our knowledge and take aomething out.

No not really, you have a redneck family and this is how they were raised.....they wont get any better

They have no right to enter your apartment, unless its an emergency, even if you dont pay rent....

So get away from these jerks fast!
