Is there any way I can take a person to small claims if i do not know her address? She sold me a car in another lady's name and the told me the car was in excellent condition and the car will not pass smog. In california I can't drive the car unless is passes smog.I tried to write her a demand letter saying I want my money back for the car, but the letter came back that the address she gave me doesn't exist. So can you tell me is there anyway i can still take her to court and get my money back.

Contact the post office to see if you can get a change of address on her. You will need to send her another letter marked "ADDRESS SERVICE REQUESTED".

The post office will then forward your mail to the address shown on the COA form, and also will send you a note (costs about $0.50) with the new address on it.
