What is the name of your state? Arizona

To give a little background – I worked for a hotel that was under private ownership in Phoenix, Arizona. The owner had just purchased the property and had no prior experience managing or operating a lodging property. I worked at the hotel for about 6 months in an upper management capacity when the constant harassment from the ownership became too much to bear. All of the management team decided to quit on the same day, and this infuriated the owner.
Now that we are gone, I am have been receiving harassing phone calls and letters from the owner’s lawyer accusing me of everything from destroying files to stealing company property. I was not involved in any form of stealing or destroying whatsoever, and neither were any of the other managers who are also now being harassed.
Beyond the harassing letters and calls, I am hearing from many of my sources that the owner is slandering all of us to our former company’s corporate office and to other individuals throughout the area. At first, I was not concerned, but now I am worried all of the unfounded allegations could seriously damage my reputation in a career field where your reputation is everything.
So the questions are: Do I have a case for a defamation law suit? And is there a lawyer who would be willing to take on such a case with no money down and a large percentage of any settlement we receive? I am not concerned about making a dime off of the owner, just stopping the lies and making sure I preempt any legal action stemming from her false allegations.
