My former employer has hired a collection agency to try and collect money from employees who benefited from their education assistance program. Apparently they lost their records and are now forcing people to prove that they passed courses from 3 years ago. I sent in my college transcripts and certificate of completion to prove that I completed my classes. They now demand that I provide receipts which I don't have. This agency has called me several times on weekends and is now bothering me at work. Am I responsible for their sloppy bookeeping? I feel harrassed and embarassed. I gave this company 19 years of my life. Now my clean credit record is in jeopardy. Do they have any right to pursue these actions?
