I rent an apartment in florida, My wife and i resigned our lease in Febuary But the lease did not start until 4-01, at the end of febuary we found that we needed to move to a different location due to our jobs. We went down and talked to one of the leasing consoultants and they told us that it would be no problem, so we signed a lease termination sheet and that was that. Last Friday we did the walk through of the apartment to close it. To our suprise the property manager to us since we had broken the new lease the we would forfit our Security Deposite and have to pay an extra months rent to move out. The leaseing agent we talked to told us that just to throw the new lease away and not to worry about it. Also on the Lease termination sheet the Property Mgr had went through and crossed off some og the information we had written down and added some stuff of her own, without us Knowing. Would this be considered Fraud and can we get our money back..
