I am posting this for someone else so I am simply copy and pasting here....

My children's mother moved into AZ from CA in 08/2004 and filed for Child Support through the State of Arizona while she was receiving Child Support (and claimed she wasn't). Now the State of Arizona indicates I owe over $3,000.00 in back support and my 2006 Tax Return will be levied. My daughter is 18 and a senior in High School and the state where the Child Support was established (Washington) limited Child Support until 18 in the original documentation (Divorce Decree). Is there anyone who can intercede for me by giving me info as to how to battle this? (as there is a long sordid history between my ex and I)
And isn't claiming no child support while cashing child support checks considered "fraud"?

You have all those cancelled checks with the words "Child Support" written in the memo line... right? Right? ;) Make copies of them (front and back) send them to AZ and let them know that you are not in arrears, and here are the cancelled checks with her signature on the back showing she cashed/deposited them as proof.

The state that issued the original order is the state whose emancipation laws apply. If your court order says until age 18, then you should file for termination of child support. It won't automatically get done, you have to file for it. Are you sure there are no stipulations other than age 18? Some states require until age 18 or graduation from high school, whichever comes last, etc. Make absolutely sure what your decree states.

To find out if your tax return that you're about to file has indeed been flagged for tax intercept, you can call 1-800-304-3107. That is the Treasury Department automated line for tax intercepts. It will tell you whether or not your return is flagged and if so, it will give you the name of the agency that has it flagged. You'll have to enter your SSN and other things, but you will eventually get the info about the intercept.

Were you paying through CSE through the State of CA all this time? Was a request to move jurisdiction to AZ ever filed and approved by the court with jurisdiction?

he has paid through the original state the whole time. Never missed a payment at all. When mom moved to Az she filed for child support through them not informing dad of the motion and not informing the state of Az that she was already collecting child support from a previous order. the order that she had instated was basically like a SECOND order for child support on top of the order that he already has in place from WA. Basically Az is not even aware that mom is already collecting. I told him the best bet would be to contact the AZ child support office as well as the WA child support office and put those two people in touch with eachother so that something can get worked out.
