Friend gets Alimony

What is the name of your state NV.
My Friend’s divorce paper’s has no ending date for alimony. She is 60 years old. Do the courts normally put a date on the divorce paper’s when it ends? Calif. Divorce.

She was also wondering when her social security starts. Will it end or be cut down. She thinks she will be getting $900. a month. She is not sure...

Her social security kicking in could be a reason for her ex husband to petition the court to modify alimony, particularly if he is also retired and living on a smaller income. However, it certainly won't automatically change.

Just out of curiousity................how long where they married? Did the wife work during that time? What age did they divorce?
Sometimes these can be issues regarding duration of support.
But, unless there is a major change of circumstance, it looks like alimony for life.

These are ONLY considered during the determination of alimony. NOT for revision. There are specific situations in law that allow alimony to be revised. and ONLY on these basis.

She will turn 61 this month. She had been divorce for three years. was married for 35 years. She doesn’t have any family living and She never had kids of her own but she did stay home with his 4 kids, She had work up to the time of marriage. She is not in good health, She has cancer and going for treatment.
