What is the name of your state? Va

A male friend and I have worked together for 4 years and have became good friends. Last fall, both of our spouses decided that they did not want to be married anymore. Both of us were devasted to say the least. Since then we have been talking and hanging out with our children (they are all the same age) but again we are just friends. His divorce is an ugly one--mine was simple because mine just wanted out. Last night he was at a ballgame for his daughter who just so happened to be playing my daughters team when his ex went off. She got to pointing at me and screaming to him aweful comments about me. Again I can not stress it enough that we are just friends. Is there anything I can do to keep her mouth shut about me? I would end our friendship but that would hurt our work relationship and our childrens friendship. That is not fair.

Her opinions are protected by the first amendment. As long as she isn't claiming untrue facts about you, there is nothing you can do about it. If she is spreading lies about you, feel free to invest several thousand dollars in a suit that will take all too long to take care of.
