Our father died 10 years ago and we have been looking for mining rites he left to us. Williams exploration contacted us and we sent all supporting documentation. Unfortunately, the name on his birth certificate is not the name he was raised with. His mother raised him with his half sister's last name. His death certificate has the name he was raised with as well as the will.
Our names are on the will and we've proved who we are. We have sent every conceivable piece of information we have.
If we are on the will and we have proven we indead are these people, why does the birth certificate even come into play?
We have been told that they like us to jump through hoops and that's exactly what they're doing. Can anyone help us. I've lost my home and savings and this would be a Godsend to What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

Did the company ask you to provide the birth certificate? Are they saying the discrepancy is a problem?

Give us an example of what his first name legally is and the one he actually used. If you can get a signed affidavit from other people or relatives that can verify that he used a different name than his legal name, or can get public records that show what name he actually used and may also show address or birthdate information that shows he is the same party (Social Security Form SS-5--Application for Social Security Card, tax records, etc.), then that may be the proof/confirmation they are looking for.
