New York State, We refinaced our home and were told all closing costs were built into the loan. We get to closing and we were charged out of pocket over 5,000.00 The title company took 1500.00 for school taxes and 2900.00 for assorted other things. $75.00 for credit check, $350.00 for appraisal etc. We know we were over-charged but they will not let us see the bills.

Closing costs on re-fi

Thanks, I thought so, however what could be my next step? Should my attorney step in and then who pays his fees, write to the bank auditors?

It would not be worth it to hire an attorney for such a small amount. Send those jerks a certified letter requesting copies of the bills. Copy the State regulatory agency that regulates escrow/title companies.
