What is the name of your state?pennsylvania
If my mom died -- there is a will -- but no life insurance policy we have found yet -- there is three siblings. Who is entitled to pay the funeral bill -- and if i do sign for the bill along with another sibling and one chooses not to sign, if i write on the contract paying for my third only of the bill -- would that be legal??? please help as i have an hour to meet the funeral director. Thanks

Anyone who wants can guarantee payment of the bill.

If the funeral home director accepted your conditional obligation, yes. However, I think it unlikely that he would accept it.

Simply, the estate is liable for the bill.... and anyone can agree to guarantee payment in the event that the estate is insolvent or fails/refuses to pay.
