What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? - California
Hi,
Firstly, I am NOT an american citizen and I'm here on a work visa. This friday night while walking past a beer shop two guys asked to buy them alcohol in response to which I told them that I did not have any money to buy them beer. Surprisingly they said that they would give me the money and I'd just need to grab them a six pack of budweiser. This made me a little skeptical and I told them that I don't want to get into any kind of trouble and I walked past them.
Unfortunately after 15 minutes when I was returning back home, I saw the same guys still waiting for someone to buy them beer. So,I felt sorry for them and this went up to them on my own, took money and bought them beer. Right when I handed over the beer, I was nabbed by some cops. And despite of explaining the fact that I wasnt aware of the fact that the guys were minors, they gave me a ticket (Misdemeanor- Furnished alcohol to minors).
I have to be present in court in the second month of April; could you please lhelp me understand the implications of what I've gotten myself into?
Five minutes of googl'ing has led to me to realise that its was a "Decoy shoulder tapping" planned by the cops. Could you please let me know if there's a way for me to come clean out of this?
