we purchased a bedroom set with no intrest for 1 year. our contract was sold from avco to associates mid way, i contacted associates to find out what our payoff was at the end of the year and they said we no longer were avail for that promotion due to the fact that 1 payment was late. i asked for them to send me a copy of our contact and they said it would take 3 weeks. we never recd it. i asked every month for a copy until they finally responded with a letter 9 9 months later) saying they could not find it. i contacted the the store and they don't have one either and i am unable to find ours. i have been fight this for a year now and i am going to pay it off this month. am i reponsible for the interest if they can't show me a signed contract?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Contact the original company and see if they have a copy. Otherwise, pay what you think you owe and have them take you to court. This way, burden is on them to prove you owe interest. Chances are, they won't fight it.
