i don't know if this is the right forum, but i'll give it a shot.
three years ago i paid $2100 for a couch and chair. about a month and a half ago i had it cleaned. the cushions came out fine, but the body of the sofa and chair ended up severly water/chemical stained. i gave them 3 chance to 'fix' the furniture, but they couldn't. i disputed the charge with my credit card company, so i didn't pay for the service.

do i have any recourse in getting any money back from the cleaning company for the damage they caused. the body of the furniture is yellow and the cushions are cream. thanks for any help in advance. i live in TX.

If you can prove that the damage was a result of the cleaners negligence or malice, then you have a chance of collecting a depreciated damage amount.

The obvious problem you will have is proving the negligence (that the cleaner, as a professional, should have test the fabric first, or known that fabric would react, etc.). You might want to take a cushion to a reputable upholstery cleaner or have one come by and give you an 'opinion' as to the cause of damage.

Then, if you feel that you have indeed been damaged, take them to Small Claims court.

I know it is frustrating and I am not sure if I can help but I will try
But first let me say I work in the carpet cleaning industry and with out a doubt when you have some one clean your sofa they are suppose to know what they are cleaning there are many different fabrics and ways of testing them to see what is the best way to clean it and a proffessional should know what it is.
What I suggest is find another company or two who can come out and look at the cushions and body to see what can be done if anything without seeing it myself I do not know if it can be fixed but sometimes it can be .To find a company you will want to find one that is certified by IICRC (Intitute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification)you can go to there web site for a referal at http://www.iicrc.org/ or call them and explain what happened and see if they can refer someone that may help this is the number from there web site (360) 693-5675 after having it inspected go from there if it can not be fixed hold the company responsible they are suppose to be proffessionals and if they are not sure if they can clean it they should do a test clean first if they are still not sure they should not touch it
