Mom is CP, Dad is NCP. Mom is represented, Dad is pro se. Dad's parenting time has been suspended for 7 months after an ex parte and show cause hearing pending a whole bunch of stuff, including psych evals. A GAL was appointed for child, who is 13.

GAL has requested that dad copy mom's counsel on all correspondence to GAL. Is this legally correct?

To note, it has become apparent after the fact that there have been many communications from mom's counsel to GAL which dad was not copied on. Is there a different requirement because they are both lawyers and dad is not?

Thanks.

If dad's visitation is suspended its really not very wise of him to be without an attorney.

I have no idea why the GAL wants dad to copy mom's attorney.

I would advise copying Mom's attorney with all GAL correspondence anyway...How is Dad going to complain he isn't being included in the process, if he does the same thing to the other side?

At any rate~ If a GAL asks you to do it, Do It.
