What is the name of your state? Nevada

Almost 1 year ago I had a Default Judgement entered against me. I was never served with any court papers or notice of court dates etc... They then garnished my wages from my job. I contacted an attorney and got copies of all the court papers. It shows that they served papers to my mother at an address that I did not live at. She never told me or gave me any of the papers. It has her signature on the service papers. The attorney said we could file a motion?? to show that there was improper service and basically they would have to start the whole process again. The garnishment would stop etc... I was not able to do that becuase the attorney's fees were more than I could afford or borrow. It has been about 1 year since this has happened. Is it still possible to contest the improper service and stop the garnishment for a time? Any suggestions would be helpful...

Thank-you.

My response:

Do you recall how long of a time-frame your attorney told you, that you had, to have the default set-aside?

What is the story behind the lawsuit? Was this a contract matter?
