Gave Notice, but want to extend lease

I live in California. I have a month-to-month lease in an apartment that I gave notice of termination on to move to a new house.

The house construction schedule is delayed and I would rather stay in the apartment until house is ready. New tennants are lined up for my apartment. Can I extend my termination date? Can I be forced out? Thanks.

Sorry pal, you need to move. Unless you somehow pay the tenants off to move in later.
