What is the name of your state? CA
I was helped here a little over a year ago with a nunc pro tunc (still have a hard time remember exactly how it is pronounced) With success of course, My computer was fried so I made a new account, anyway I have a question about something called a gavron order, My husband said in a matter of fact way that greedy woman can't get much anymore b/c of this. I would like to know what this means, He has brought it up on severl occasions when we almost divorced and after. Thank you

Your husband is wrong. That doesn't appear to be anything new.

That appears to reference the rule that alimony (if not permanent because of the length of the marriage) be for 1/2 of the number of years of the marriage. So...if someone was married 12 years, alimony might be awarded for 6.

Anyway...do a google search...(I got clearer info when I did my own). I googled, Gavron, California, Spousal Support.

Glad I read this

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. We didn't get n attorney when we almost divorced lst year, and I went on his word that he pay me for only 10 years at 40% of his pay not including O.T that he worked on a regular basis and he also took out min wage earnings at a full time basis that I should have made. I did get a cert for medical billing through work comp after being hurt, but under the pretense that I can use a computer program that types for you, but in the area where i live they want bilingual in spanish and with out exp. it is very difficult to find. Besides I believe he has protected himself since my return by keeping my name off any accounts as in checking or saving and gives me an allowance, again he has asked me not to work stateing it could put a wedge in our relationship. I just don't want to go into anything as naive as I did before, but without income it will be hard. I hardly have 40 grand in the bank as Mrs Gavron did... LOL he sure was wrong!!!! I just want to educate myself, i have kept myself under his rock far to long. He is so intemidating and very smart to some extent. You guys helped me so much and I appreciate it. Thank you
