My husband has a son by a previous marriage who will be 18 soon. The divorce decree states that child support continues until age 18 or as long as the child remains a full time student. The son recently dropped out of High School and is not attending any alternative school. He is supposedly going to attend GED classes in the future. Is GED considered being a full time student? Or will support end at 18? We live in IL. Also, can we just stop the payments or will we need to contact a lawyer first? Thank you for your help.
