What is the name of your state? Tx
I hope this is the correct board, but my question is this:
I hired a contractor to do about 40K worth of renovations on an add on to our home. When something came up that the contractor couldn't do, he suggested an individual who could do the work. There is a "questionable" bill left by a sub. If the contractor completed the job and his work was unsatisfactory in certain areas, could I just tell the contractor to pay for the "bill" by the plummer, because the contractor did a crap job? A little confusing, I know.

Thanks

**A: who hired this sub, you or the GC?

the sub gave me a bid, and I wrote the check. My contractor made the call and set a time for the sub to come out to our home.
**A: why is your question again?

my question is..
Do I have to pay the bill from the plummer, or could I just tell my contractor to pay for it, because the contractor never completed the job.

**A: it depends on if the plumber was actually a sub under the contractor or hired directly by you. Who is acting as the GC in this case? It appears that you were since you got the bid and you paid him directly. Who signed the plumber's contract?

I never had a signed agreement with the plummer. On our loan ap, the GC signed the loan papers as the GC.
**A: then if the GC is responsbile for the plumber, by all means work it out with the GC.
