What is the name of your state? Ohio

I'm trying to settle with Citibank through their attorney's office here in Ohio.

When I make a settlement offer or a payment plan offer, does the attorney's office generally have to go back to Citibank for their approval/denial?

I tried to get a lady at Citibank to answer this general question for me and she wouldn't.

Thanks in advance!

Their attorney's office?? Do you mean a CA? All CA pose as AO's so people like you get scared and intimidated. The account has been sold to this CA, so yes, call the CA and set up a plan to pay.

GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING BEFORE YOU GIVE THEM A DIME, AND DON'T GIVE THEM ANY BANK INFO.

The account has not been sold to a CA - this is the attorney's office that they use in Ohio.

If this is truly a lawyer hired directly by Citibank, then yes, the lawyer would have to have approval for any settlment. Its likely that CB has already told the lawyer what they will accept as settlement, anything less would be negotiated and CB would have to buy into it.
