What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

Hi, I own and live in a private home in California, and rent out spare bedrooms to two different people (different rooms).

One of the roommates has llived here for over 5 years, but has recently started acting "weird" - muttering to himself/herself, making rude comments to other house members, and just making everyone uneasy. This roommate hasn't done it to me personally, but multiple sources confirm the behavior. Although I like (and need) the income, I've become fairly uncomfortable.

The arrangement is on a month-to-month. Is a 30-day notice appropriate. or can a shorter time period be used because of the behavior?

Thanks....

Landlord/Tenant Book Index - California Department of Consumer Affairs Landlord's notice to end a periodic tenancy

A landlord can end a periodic tenancy(for example, a month-to-month tenancy) by giving the tenant proper advance written notice. Your landlord must give you 60 days' advance written notice that the tenancy will end if you and every other tenant or resident have lived in the rental unit for a year or more.181
SO since one roomate who rented from you has been there more than a year 60 day is what appears to apply.
