What is the name of your state? CA

i am applying for a job that requires a secret clearance. I got a DUI when i was 16, and I am 25 now. i am wondering if i should wait and try to get it expunged, and then tell them that, or if it is the same to them, whether it is expunged or not. I mean, I know they will see it regardless, but will they think better of me, like i am trying to do something about it, if i expunge it first? I am just worried about taking too long to expunge it and the job being filled. but on the other hand, i dont want to ruin my chances of getting the clearance.

thanks

Tell the truth and answer all questions truthfully.

Just as an asside, I did a three-year stint in Germany working for a little organization with initials that started with N... :D

When the Chief of Security asked me if I had ever done drugs, my answer was "Of course I have." After the look of shock left his face he and I had a good laugh.

It's not that you've done something, it's that you try to hide it.

Of course, if you've killed someone or were part of the 'Great Train Robbery' then you're out of luck.

that brings up another question. like you say, of course i have done drugs in my life, but havent for over five years. so do i tell them that? that is not an automatic disqualification? i know you say be honest, but i dont see how they will see that if i dont tell them.

If I were you I wouldn't be so quick to admit I worked for the people that rhymes with Snotzies (and that the word filter won't let me say) :p

this is one of the rudest message boards i have ever been on. twice i have been yelled at or spoken rudely to, and i have been a member for less than 24 hours.

Please give an example. I couldn't find any of the above in this thread.

Your question was answered and you asked it again because (I am assuming) you did not like the answer. Aren't your actions rude?
