Wisconsin: My building was sold and the new owner gave me written notice that I must be out by 8/31/01. So I went and signed a new lease for another apartment with a different landlord. The new lease starts 7/01/01. The new owner of where I live now, tells me I am obligated to still pay the last two months rent. Is there any way out of this financial obligation? And where or who might I contact to get help with this--what legal orginizations that might be of assistance? Thanks

First do you have a lease? Did your lease end on 8/31/2001?

If so Then YOU owe the old landlord money untill your lease ends.

YOU had a very lousy education about a little known country called : THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

So consider losing 2 months rent as a penalty for not being too bright.
