I had to break a lease due to relocation. I lined up several people to see the apartment after my move, but each one was blown off by the landlord's daughter who was my housemate and always represented the landlord. I eventually refused to keep paying rent because I could not fill the apartment despite the correspondence indicating that the prospoective lesees were interested in taking over my lease. There was nothing in the lease against sub-leasing. The lease is set to expire this August and I think the place is now rented. I was told on several occasions that I would get my security deposit back when the place was rented, but that was before I stopped paying rent.
Do I have any right to recuieve my security deposit upon the official end of my lease?

yes but you will have to sue the landlord daughter in small claims court.
