What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA
My ex gf still has a number of items of my personal property. I have tried to make arrangements to get the items back, but she has refused to do so. She knows and I know they are mine. She and I had been residing together until I moved out one night after discovering she had taken pills again (she is a an addict). That had been the last straw of major issues in our relationship, really it was all on her end. I
The things I have there are not of significant value-clothes racks, some clothes, dishes, a couple of lamps, and a vacuum cleaner. The vacuum cleaner ISN"T even MINE and she knows that. It my grandmothers-she had let me borrow it.
If she had treated me nicely, I would probably forget about those items. However, the way she treated me and the things she put me through, I do not want her to get anything from our relationship. She was mentally and physically abusive (I had to go to the ER twice), constantly lying, embarrassed me (stole pills from my best friends house and caused a scene) and constantly lied to me. She ended up in a mental ward after I left. She had been on probation for a DUI and was caught drinking. I am not saying this to bash her, but I did go through a lot of pain in that relationship. I should have left earlier. She promised me she would get "better". I had also found out before from her brother on Facebook she had been arrested for drugs before. This was something he told me-I wasn't fishing for it. He was worried about me becoming involved with her (He is a pastor). I should have taken the hint.
Bottom line is I want my stuff back. I don't care if it costs me more money to get it back than it would cost me to replace it. She is just being manipulative and this has more to do with principle than dollars and cents.
What would I need to do to get my stuff back. I am in PA>
