I live in Florida and have shared a house with my sister for the past year. She has turned in to a very cruel person. Really was never nice, but, worse now. I decided to move out and while I was at work she would go in my room and take my things. VCR, earrings, family items given to me, etc. She said these items were collateral for bills that weren't even due yet. With ove $500. in groceries, she put a pad lock on the pantry and the laundry room. So for over 3 weeks I couldn't eat the food that I paid half for.
The day I moved out I asked for my things, she said they weren't there and she wanted her money for the bills. About $50.00.
I don't feel I owe her anything. I should be paid for 1/2 of the groceries and I want my things back.
Small claims court has been mentioned to me.
HELP!!! I'm not only saddened by my sister's actions, I'm hurt.

Thank you,
CIndy :(

File in small claims court. Ignore the issue of 'cruel sister', etc. It just clouds the issue. Your case is for recovery of damages.
