In July 2003, the company I worked for gave all employees gift stock. We were to be fully vested in 72 months with retroactive vesting dependent on your previous tenure. I was due to be fully vested in March 2007.

As of December 2004, I was downsized. What are my rights concerning the gift stock? Nowhere in the paperwork did it say if the employee left or was terminated that the gift stock would disappear. I guess I'm just confused about the vesting. Shouldn't I be entitled to a portion of the gift stock up to my last day? The total amount was over $20K which is why I'm so concerned about it. Thank you!
