What is the name of your state?TN. My ex left a voice mail message on my cell phone over the weekend letting me know that our daughter has expressed interest in joining the Girl Scouts in the state where he moved to (SC). We have still not agreed to a parenting plan and my visitation is basically short right now anyway. I have no problem with her being interested in joining the Girl Scouts but my problem is that they meet on Sundays and when I do see them that would cut into our visitation. Our CO states that I am to have them from Friday at 6 p.m. to Monday at 8 a.m. as to which I am supposed to deliver them to school. Now I get them on Friday night (supposed to be 6 p.m. but it just depends on when my ex finally decides to show up) to Sunday at 2 p.m. How do I approach my ex on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Why not contact the girl scouts in your area.
Discuss the situation and ask if there is a way that on your visits, she can attend the meetings or activities in your area.
Ask them to contact the one in your exs area to set up a good schedule.
That way, you can become involved during your visits and she doesn't loose out on an activity.

my town, is VERY small, and I had MANY scout troops to chose from, based on WHEN and what TIME they met.

I would suggest to my ex, he do the same.

His voice mail stated that he was hoping that they would meet on Fridays but that the only time they meet is on Sundays. He moved for a so called job. But yet has been telling the school and anyone else in Fort Mill that his wife, our childrens' step mom, is their mom. The school that they attend was surprised to even hear from me. This is the kind of man I am dealing with.

He may not be totally off base, though - there is a shortage of troop leaders, so a lot of troops fill up quickly - you don't always get your choice of convenient meeting times. You could look into a different service unit - call the council for that area and see what they can suggest.

update-girl scouts and interrupting visitation

TN-I told my ex husband that I had no problems with our daughter joining girl scouts but that on the weekends that she was with me, she might miss the meetings. I talked to our children on Saturday and I asked our daughter about girl scouts and she told me that her dad said that I told him no. I explained to her that I said I didn't mind her joining girl scouts and that the only time she would not attend the meetings would be when her and her brother were with me.
