Giving Out Personal Information

Can an employer give out my home phone number to a client without my prior knowledge or permission? In this case the client has a beeper number that they may reach me on without needing knowledge of my home phone number.

That information is normally confidential information in the employees file. The employer has no business giving out that information, especially since you have a pager. What do you want to do about this?
