my ex and i bought a house jointly in 95.. he got us in debt so he took out a 2nd mortgage..i had to sign be cause of the home.. i am almost 100 percent sure all debts paid were in his name..i kicked him out in 02 because of his outrageous spending habits i have taken over both mortgages and all home repairs and improvements... i tried to get refinance in my own name but am turned down because of income or credit score...he wrote me a certified letter saying that he wants the house put up for sale and 1/2 of eqiuty... when i booted him out he took 2 of everything didn't ask for anything back because everything was on 3rd batch of credit cards... what can i do here.. every penny i make with or without him has been put on his debt and this house..do i have a case???

The first thing you need to do is start a dissolution of marriage lawsuit to get a judgment declaring what happens to this real estate.

Go hire a lawyer.

i guess i wasn't totally awake this morning becuz i forgot to mention that my ex and i were never married.. i do have an appointment with an attorney on thursday morning...just curious to see some possible answers on this matter...mainly to give me some peace of mind so i don't totaly let it absorb my every waking moments

if you read my earlier posts, you'll see I hve been there and then some! See "taken to the cleaners" I am still over my head in this horrible scenario, so you can imagine that I am interested in yr situation too....you can IM me or email and compare notes so that maybe both of us can get out of this with the shirts on our backs!
