We had a fire that caused damage to our home. We had no insurance on the structure, only contents. The fire was incendiary in nature, and we even as much told them we thought someone started the fire. They sent us a notice telling us they were reserving their rights every month or so. Then 6 days before a year was up they sent a letter stating our claim was being closed in 6 days. We returned home from vacation and received the letter 2 days after their so called expiration date. After calling them they more or less said the case was closed and told us to called the adjuster who said to call the attorney. At that time we said, no we are not calling your attorney. We then stated the fabrications their attorney stated such as us not compliying. We told them we have proof to refute their lawyer and will be seeking legal help. One such was saying we did not submit info for a clinical visit. Even though they had sent a US marshall to collect the info. Another was saying the insurance we had was ineligable because we were not actual owners of the home. (But they sent us a renewal bill for the insurance 8 months after the fire!) Three days after telling them we were gunna get legal representation we got a call from the insurance company saying to come in to settle the claim for or possessions. What should we expect? Are they trying o settle now that they realize they were wrong in their assumtions? Or are they gunna offer a small settlement in hopes we go away? Any insightwould be appreciated
