Virginia
My wife and I started divorce Proceedings In June 2012. We both agreed this would be a non contested Divorce. We agreed on all Items that we own.
Her Lawyer drew all the papers up which we both signed and had them notarized and also waited the 6 months required by Virginia law.
Today we went to see her lawyer to turn in the Separation and Property Settlement Agreement. Her lawyer said that I would have to be served first before she would present the documents to the Judge. What does that mean? Shouldn't have I been served at the beginning of our divorce and not after 6 months? I do not have a Lawyer, since we did not have any problems with the divorce everything was agreed upon.
